Tinubu Extends Tenure of Customs CG Adeniyi by Six Months

President Bola Tinubu has approved a six-month extension of the tenure of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi.
The extension, which follows the expiration of his first extension scheduled for August 1, 2026, will now keep him in office until February 2027.
According to the Presidency, the decision is to enable him consolidate the National Single Window project and ensure a smooth succession process in the Nigeria Customs Service.
During the period, Adeniyi is expected to work with the Customs Board on key administrative matters, including promotions and the retirement of eligible officers.
Adeniyi joined the Nigeria Customs Service in the late 1980s and rose through the ranks before his appointment as Comptroller General in June 2023.
