The announcement that High Chief Kenneth Ejiofor Ifekudu had donated half a billion naira to Imperial Club attracted widespread attention within and outside the organisation. Popularly known as Agbalanze and Ife Ozubulu, Ifekudu has earned respect as Chairman of Diamond Leeds Limited and Gold Reef Estate Limited, two companies that have made their mark in construction and real estate. Away from business, however, he has built another reputation rooted in community development, youth empowerment and support for people facing difficult circumstances.
Members of Imperial Club described the donation as one of the biggest individual contributions received by the organisation, a gesture that further reflects the esteem in which he is held by fellow members.
For residents of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, the latest donation simply reflects the character of a man they have known for years.
Mention Kenneth Ifekudu in the community and conversations quickly shift from business to the lives he has touched. Traders speak of opportunities they received when they had almost given up. Young people recall moments when financial support arrived at a critical stage of their lives. Community leaders point to projects that have improved daily life, while families who passed through difficult periods remember the helping hand extended to them without conditions.
That has remained one of the defining features of his philanthropy.
As Chairman of Diamond Leeds Limited, Ifekudu has built a company with interests in road construction, bridge projects, building construction and engineering services. The company has handled infrastructure projects in different parts of the country, earning recognition for quality delivery and professional standards. Through Gold Reef Estate Limited, he has also established a strong presence in property development, providing residential estates and real estate investment opportunities.
Associates say he built both companies on hard work, discipline and a determination to deliver projects that stand the test of time. Those qualities have helped sustain long standing relationships with clients and business partners.
Despite the demands of running successful businesses, Ifekudu has maintained close ties with his hometown.
His contributions to the development of Ozubulu remain visible.
