Barrister Felix Morka has become one of the prominent voices of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with his position as National Publicity Secretary placing him at the centre of the party’s response to political issues and public criticism.
Morka became the APC National Publicity Secretary in 2022 and has since been responsible for presenting the party’s position on national issues, defending its policies and responding to criticism from opposition parties and other groups.
His regular appearances on television programmes, radio discussions, press briefings and political events have made him a familiar face in the country’s political space. He has spoken on issues including the economy, governance, elections, opposition politics and the policies of the President Bola Tinubu administration.
Before joining partisan politics, Morka spent years working in human rights and civil society. He founded the Social and Economic Rights Action Center (SERAC), an organisation involved in advocacy on social and economic rights, and was also involved in international human rights activities.
He trained as a lawyer, earning his LL.B. from the University of Jos and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. His experience in law and human rights advocacy has influenced his approach to political arguments, with his public interventions often focusing on policy and legal issues.
As APC spokesman, Morka has had to defend the party on some of the country’s most contentious political issues. He has frequently appeared in the media to respond to claims by opposition figures, explain government policies and speak on the direction of the ruling party.
President Tinubu has publicly acknowledged Morka’s contribution to the party’s communication. In a birthday message to the APC spokesman in April 2026, the President described him as a human rights advocate with extensive civil society experience and praised his role in interpreting and explaining the APC manifesto.
Tinubu also commended Morka’s handling of both internal and external communication, describing his experience in strategic communication as an asset to the party.
The President had earlier, in 2024, praised Morka as a strong voice of the APC and commended his contribution to public discussions on issues affecting the party and the country.
Morka’s role in the media space was further expanded in March 2025 when Tinubu appointed him Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The appointment gave him responsibility in the management of Nigeria’s public television network while he continued to serve as the APC National Publicity Secretary.
His work as party spokesman has also put him in the middle of political debates ahead of the 2027 general elections. In March 2026, Morka said the APC would not take the election for granted, insisting that the party would work for President Tinubu’s re-election.
Morka has also remained active in the party’s organisational activities, including efforts to expand its membership and strengthen its communication with supporters.
His career has taken him from human rights and civil society advocacy into partisan politics and media administration. The experience has given him a background in both advocacy and political communication.
His work has attracted both praise and criticism, as is expected of a spokesman for a ruling political party. Supporters credit him with being consistent in defending the APC, while his critics have challenged some of the positions he has taken in defence of the party and the administration.
In 2025, Morka was also conferred with the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), adding to his record of service in law, human rights advocacy, development and public communication.
Morka continues to serve as the APC National Publicity Secretary, speaking for the party on major political developments and responding to issues raised by opposition parties and other stakeholders.
