The League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja has extended warm Christmas greetings to ndi Anambra at home and in the diaspora, describing the season as a time for love, sacrifice, peace and renewed hope for humanity.
The association called on the people of Anambra to use the festive period to reflect on enduring values that have continued to define the Anambra spirit, particularly unity, compassion, tolerance and selfless service to one another, noting that these values have remained the strength of the people across generations.
According to a press statement jointly signed by the Interim President of LAJA, Ikenna Okonkwo, and the Interim Secretary, Princess-Ekwi Ajide, the group said Christmas also provides an opportunity to acknowledge the resilience of ndi Anambra despite prevailing economic and social challenges confronting the country.
The journalists commended the industrious nature of Anambra people, pointing to their enterprise, innovation and commitment to excellence as key contributions to the development of Anambra State and Nigeria at large.
As journalists of Anambra extraction based in Abuja, the association reaffirmed its commitment to responsible, ethical and development-driven journalism, pledging to continue using its platforms to promote truth, peace, accountability and positive narratives that advance the collective interest of Anambra State and the nation.
LAJA also urged ndi Anambra to celebrate responsibly during the festive season, extend support to the less privileged, and continue to pray for peace, security and prosperity in Anambra State and across the country.
The association expressed hope that the Christmas celebration would strengthen the bond among the people, renew hope in every home and usher in a new year marked by unity, progress and greater opportunities for all.
