YOUTHS CALLED UPON TO TAKE THEIR RIGHTFUL PLACE-Ben Duntoye

Monday 14th. August, 2023 saw the Executive Hall of International Conference Center Abuja filled to full capacity.

Invited guests from all walks of life were in attendance to witness the presentation of the book “Youth Rising” authored by a seasoned youth expert Ben Duntoye.

The event was also in commemoration of the international Youth Day celebration which created an opportunity for clarion call on youths to rise to the occasion of pragmatism leadership and onerous responsibility.

Earlier in his welcome address the Convener of the event Mr Duntoye on behalf of the Management Board of the African Youth Resource Center, the Central Planning Committee (CPC) of the International Youth Day and Public presentation of the book thanked all the invited guests for sparing time and resources in spite of their busy schedules to honour and celebrate young people whom he described as the future sustainable hope of the nation.

He stated that the United Nation ear marked 12th. of August every year as International Day of the Youth to enable more focal attention on issues relating to over all youth development and the challenges they face in different countries.

Mr Duntoye further stated that African Youth Center over the past years has been engaged in celebrating, organizing and carrying out different laudable programs for the Youth which was core value of the Center!

He added that today the world faces diverse challenges bordering on security, health, education and other societal challenges resulting mostly in young people being at the receiving end. And therefore, no amount of interventions, programs and initiatives put in place will be sufficient enough hence the urge to put forward this book Youth Arising, Harnessing the Potentials and Aspirations of Nigerian Youth Towards a Greater Worker and Expert.

Various speakers, launchers and special guests at the event were Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi: Registrar/Executive Secretary of National Examination Council NECO, Commandant General of the National Peace Corps of Nigeria, Professor Dickson Akor, Ezenwa Nwagwu, Representatives of both Kwara and Kogi States Governors, Partners for Electoral Reform, Corp Members, Girls Guild, Politicians, Various Youth Organisations and Member of the fourth estate of the realm.

Highlights of the event was the unveiling with fireworks and public presentation of the book, group photographs with dignitaries displaying the colorful book entitled “Youth Rising” as well as the launching by various individuals, body corporate and other well wishers.
