Born on May 23, 1960, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Senator Clement Annie Okonkwo’s journey was one of resilience and extraordinary accomplishments. He took over his father’s trading business at the tender age of 19, transforming it into a vast business empire spanning telecommunications, oil and gas, manufacturing, banking, export-import, and real estate. As a Senator representing Anambra Central in the 6th National Assembly, he served with diligence and compassion. He championed environmental causes, facilitated employment for his constituents, and tirelessly worked to ensure the South East Zone was not distanced from the gains of governance.His philanthropic spirit was evident through the Agunechemba Foundation, where he empowered individuals by sponsoring their education and supporting numerous community projects. His heart was large, and his kindness knew no bounds. He provided transformers, built schools, and modern libraries, and improved healthcare facilities, leaving an indelible mark on the communities he served.A loving husband to Lolo Chinyelu Okonkwo, and a proud father and grandfather, his legacy continues through his family.
