Alistair Soyode, the visionary founder of BEN Television, has been conferred with the prestigious Triangle Award for his groundbreaking work in Black and Ethnic media, as well as his tireless commitment to youth and diaspora development. As a trailblazer in the media industry, Soyode has been recognized for his visionary leadership and dedication to promoting African and Black voices globally.
Soyode is a distinguished media mogul and a prominent figure within the Diaspora community. He pioneered the first satellite television in Europe, bridging cultural gaps and fostering unity among diverse nationalities. Through BEN Television, Soyode has provided a vital platform for African voices and stories, amplifying the voice and representation of diaspora communities.
Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Honourable Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who presented the award, described Soyode as “a beacon of tenacity and excellence” and “a role model for our generation.” The Minister applauded Soyode’s consistent efforts in projecting Nigeria, Africa, and Black communities in a positive light on the global stage.
Soyode’s efforts have been instrumental in redefining the narrative of African and Caribbean communities, not only in the United Kingdom and Europe but also globally. He has promoted cultural understanding, empowered minority societies, and inspired positive change through his work. His dedication to excellence, innovation, and social impact has made him a role model for many.
In addition to his work in media, Soyode has made significant strides in education through the AASGON Indo-Africa Scholarship Scheme, supporting over 1,000 African students with full tuition and sponsorships across several universities in India. The Triangle Award marks another milestone in Soyode’s illustrious career, reaffirming his influence as a global advocate for inclusion, development, and empowerment.
