Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State in the Upper Legislative Chamber has been named Cultural Ambassador by the National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to preserving Nigeria’s heritage, promoting unity, and advancing cultural diplomacy.
According to Senator Nwoko, this award is a reminder that culture is not a relic of the past—it is our tool for shaping the future. He expressed his deep honour at receiving the award, saying, “Cultural identity is the soul of every nation.”
The Senator’s efforts in promoting Nigerian culture and heritage include his work on Mount Ned, which has become a living archive of history, art, and tourism. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriation, he has also been instrumental in legislative advocacy for the return of looted Nigerian artifacts.
Senator Nwoko’s commitment to supporting the creative sector as a vehicle for national rebirth has also been recognized. He thanked the NCMM for the award and reaffirmed his dedication to promoting the best of Nigerian culture.
