A group of prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders have called on party members and patriotic Nigerians to join a coalition aimed at ousting President Bola Tinubu from office in the 2027 presidential election.
At a meeting held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja on July 1, 2025, the leaders expressed deep concern over the current state of the nation, citing the APC-led government’s alleged incompetence and insensitivity. They also lamented the PDP’s decline since the last presidential election and the exit of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu as National Chairman.
The coalition believes the APC government, which came to power on “false and evil propaganda,” has become a disaster for Nigeria and must be voted out in 2027. They noted that all indices of development that support the comfort and quality of life of citizens have collapsed, making life hell in Nigeria.
The meeting also acknowledged that the PDP, once a strong and disciplined party, has become a shadow of its former self due to the heatwave unleashed by the APC Federal government through threats, blackmail, and patronage.
The leaders have decided to encourage all well-meaning PDP members and other patriotic Nigerians to join the coalition.
