“Ngige Reveals Shocking Reason for 2006 Removal”

By Amaka Okwudili

Sen. Chris Ngige

Former Governor of Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige, has revealed that his removal from office in 2006 was due to his refusal to appoint Chris Uba as his deputy governor. Ngige made this disclosure in a recent interview in Abuja.

According to Ngige, powerful political figures in the state, led by late Senator Ibrahim Mantu, conveyed the condition to him. However, he rejected the offer, citing concerns about Uba’s potential immunity and the likely backlash from the people of Anambra.

Ngige described his removal as “divinely orchestrated” and attributed it to God’s plan for him. He also stated that he chose not to challenge the court ruling that ousted him to prevent further violence and bloodshed in the state.

The former governor emphasized that he is still a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but is currently on sabbatical.
