The Labour Party Governorship candidate in the forthcoming November 8 governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu, has extended heartfelt felicitations to His Eminence, Francis Cardinal Arinze, on the 60th anniversary of his episcopal consecration, wishing him many more glorious years in the service of God and humanity.
Dr. Moghalu gave gratitude to God for the gift of Cardinal Arinze to the Universal Church and the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, where Cardinal Arinze once served as Archbishop after being consecrated as Bishop on August 29, 1965 by Archbishop Charles Heerey, barely two years before the Nigerian civil war, and as such became the youngest Catholic Bishop in the world as at that time.
Reflecting on his personal encounters and prayerful solidarity with the His Eminence; Dr. Moghalu affirmed that Cardinal Arinze has remained true to the tenet of his episcopal motto, Regnum Christi Floreat (“May the Kingdom of Christ flourish”), as seen in his tireless service to the poor and needy, his profound scholarship, and his deeply enriching sermons.
As Cardinal Arinze, fondly known as Ochudo Uwa of Eziowelle marks this remarkable anniversary, Dr. Moghalu prayed for renewed grace, strength and vitality for the celebrant in his continued service to God and humanity.
