The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, paid a courtesy visit to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, at the Federal Ministry of Health office in Abuja today. The visit aimed to finalize preparations for the upcoming 2025 Annual Population Lecture Series (APLS).
The APLS is an annual event that brings together government officials, policymakers, and development partners to discuss emerging population and development issues in Nigeria. The lecture series seeks to raise awareness and stimulate action on critical topics affecting the country’s growth and development.
During the visit, Hon. Kwarra was accompanied by key NPC officials, including Dr. Osifo Tellson Ojogun, Director-General of the NPC, and Dr. Nnamdi Maduekwe, Director of Population Studies. The NPC and the Ministry of Health are working together to ensure the success of the APLS, which promises to be a significant event in Nigeria’s population and development discourse.
The meeting shows the commitment of both organizations to addressing Nigeria’s population challenges and promoting sustainable development. Further details on the 2025 APLS will be announced in the coming weeks.
