Shock and grief have trailed the killing of Sadiq Gentle, a journalist attached to the Kano State Government House, who was brutally attacked in his residence by armed assailants. Reports indicate that the attackers stormed his home at night, inflicted multiple machete cuts on him, and carted away his mobile phones. He was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital but sadly did not survive the injuries. His death has thrown the media community and the state into mourning. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing the act as wicked and barbaric, expressed deep condolences to the family and directed security agencies to hunt down those behind the attack. The tragic incident once again underscores the frightening rise in insecurity and violent crimes in parts of the country, leaving families shattered and communities in fear.
