The All Progressives Congress (APC) Professional Women Council, Southeast Zone, has officially endorsed Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, popularly known as Ikukuoma, as its preferred candidate for the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
The endorsement took place during a courtesy visit to the APC state secretariat in Awka, where women leaders across the region gathered to declare their support for the aspirant.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Ugoeze Vivian Obi, the Southeast Zonal Coordinator of the APC Professional Women Council, underscored the strategic importance of the region in securing electoral victory. She urged women across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State to mobilize support for the APC and for Ukachukwu, describing him as “a man of passion, who will never betray his people.”
Dr. Obi further stressed that women, irrespective of background, must unite behind Ukachukwu, whom she said embodies the commitment to development and inclusivity that the state urgently needs.
In her remarks, Hon. Evangelist Lillian Okeke, the State Coordinator of the APC Professional Women Council in Anambra, appealed to women to turn out en masse during the polls. She noted that Ukachukwu has made clear promises to address the state’s unemployment challenges, particularly among youths, by creating job opportunities and offering agricultural loans to farmers.
“Ikukuoma has pledged to champion initiatives that will uplift women and open more opportunities for growth and advancement. This visit is not only about endorsement but about fostering unity, collaboration, and strong leadership in our collective push for greater goals,” Okeke said.
Also speaking, Hon. Sir Tony Uche Ezekwelu, Director of the Ikukuoma and Iyom Campaign Council, urged the women not to be swayed by opposition rhetoric. He described APC as a winning party and reminded the gathering that many of the road projects in the state were funded by the Federal Government, contrary to claims by the current administration.
Representing Prince Ukachukwu at the event, Rt. Hon. Tim Ifedioramma of the Campaign Council reiterated the candidate’s commitment to good governance and to prioritizing the future of Anambra’s children. He encouraged women to vote wisely, stressing that their collective decision will determine the direction of the state and the country at large.
The endorsement by the APC Professional Women Council, Southeast, is seen as a clear cut boost to Ukachukwu’s governorship bid as the countdown to the November 8 polls intensifies.
