The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), mni, has felicitated with the Government and People of Nigeria on the occasion of the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, assuring that the Commission remains committed to reforms that will guarantee an efficient, motivated, and accountable Police Force.
According to a press release signed by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations of the Commission, Argungu extended warm greetings to officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force as well as the dedicated staff of the Commission, urging them to remain steadfast in their service to the nation.
He noted that Independence Day is not only a time of celebration but also of sober reflection on the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and the collective responsibility of all citizens to build a united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.
The PSC Chairman further called on Police Officers across the country to rededicate themselves to professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their constitutional duties. He reaffirmed that the Commission would continue to drive reforms aimed at repositioning the Force for better service delivery.
“As we celebrate our Independence, let us renew our faith in Nigeria and continue to work together in unity and love. The challenges may be daunting, but with resilience and commitment, our nation will continue to thrive,” Argungu was quoted as saying.
The Commission also prayed for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
