The Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Garden Estate, Amb. Dr. Simeon Kelvin, has called on the government to urgently intervene in the regulation of rising house rents and protect tenants from exploitative landlords across the country.
Speaking during the company’s 10th anniversary celebration, Dr. Kelvin lamented that the unchecked increase in rent prices has placed unbearable pressure on tenants already struggling with the nation’s economic realities. He appealed for a harmonised housing policy that would balance the interests of landlords and tenants while ensuring affordable housing for the average Nigerian.
According to him, “The journey of Crystal Garden Estate has not been without challenges, but we embraced them all and found lasting solutions. We believe housing should not be a luxury but a necessity that every Nigerian can afford.”
Over the past decade, Crystal Garden Estate has established itself as a reputable real estate company providing affordable housing options that have turned many tenants into homeowners. The firm’s housing projects span several parts of Anambra State, including Isinyi Nando in Anambra East Local Government Area (Phases 1 and 2), and the Aku na Esi Obi Ike Homes at Umueri, among others.
As part of the anniversary celebration, the company rewarded 14 outstanding realtors with brand-new cars in recognition of their dedication and contribution to the company’s growth.
One of the beneficiaries, Sunday Owe Emmanuel, who won a car, shared his excitement, saying he had been inspired by last year’s winners and worked hard to achieve the same success this year.
The event, held amid pomp and celebration, attracted notable dignitaries, including the Chairman of G.U.O Group of Companies, Dr. Cosmas Maduka; the CEO of Coscharis Group; a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Umennajiego; and the Anambra State Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, among others.
Crystal Garden Estate reaffirmed its commitment to bridging Nigeria’s housing deficit by continuing to provide affordable and accessible homes for the average citizen.
