“Gratitude turns what we have into enough,” said Melody Beattie, an American author and inspirational writer whose works on self-growth and recovery have touched millions across the world. Her words found expression as Archbishop Onyekachukwu Joseph Nzekwesi, founder of Jesus Is Alive Ministry and Chief Executive Officer of Pineleaf Estate, gathered family, friends, and worshippers for a special thanksgiving service to mark his birthday on October 12, 2025, at his hometown, Eziowelle, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The thanksgiving followed his birthday celebration on October 10 and was devoted to thanking God for life, divine favour, and protection.
During the service, Archbishop Nzekwesi expressed deep gratitude to God for His mercies and thanked the spiritual, political, and community leaders who honoured his invitation. He prayed for continued grace, protection, and prosperity for members of his church and their families, expressing faith that next year’s celebration would be even greater, by God’s will.
Beyond his pastoral role, Archbishop Nzekwesi has distinguished himself as a philanthropist whose generosity and compassion continue to uplift lives. Through his foundation, he has provided scholarships to indigent students and brought renewed hope to many who once felt forgotten. His humility, charitable disposition, and love for humanity portray him as a man devoted to service rather than self, inspiring others to live with purpose and faith.
As a real estate developer, Archbishop Nzekwesi has transformed the fortunes of many through Pineleaf Estate, helping tenants become landlords and supporting others to achieve financial independence. His passion for community development also extends to sports; he recently sponsored the maiden Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders’ Association (ASMATA) Women Football Competition, flagged off in Onitsha by the ASMATA President General, Chief Humphrey Anuna.
Chief Anuna explained that the competition aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of promoting healthy living through active physical engagement and gender inclusion, ensuring women’s participation in sports traditionally dominated by men. He added that the event, which runs through October, will also help identify fresh talents to represent Anambra State at the national level.
