Nestoil Freed from $1 Billion Asset Freeze

By George Ozalla

Nigerian businessman Ernest Azudialu-Obiejesi has secured a significant legal victory as the Federal High Court in Lagos lifted a $1 billion asset freeze on his company, Nestoil Group. The decision ends restrictions that had affected the company’s funds, shares, and key directors.

The ruling, delivered by Justice Daniel Osiagor, overturns a previous injunction that froze Nestoil’s accounts in more than 20 banks and nullifies the receivership powers previously granted to a consortium of creditor banks. With the court’s decision, Nestoil is now free to resume normal operations and continue its ongoing projects without financial uncertainty.

The outcome is seen as a major turning point for both Nestoil Group and its founder, reaffirming Azudialu-Obiejesi’s influence in Nigeria’s corporate sector and philanthropic initiatives.

Nestoil Group, under Azudialu-Obiejesi’s leadership, has been involved in diverse energy and infrastructure projects across the country and remains a notable player in Nigeria’s business landscape.
