The Police Service Commission on Thursday announced the opening of its recruitment portal for the enlistment of fifty thousand constables into the Nigeria Police Force in line with the presidential directive issued by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strengthen community policing and deepen internal security across the country. The Commission said the exercise, carried out in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, is designed to boost manpower and reinforce policing capacity nationwide.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, the recruitment portal will open on Monday, 15 December 2025, and remain active until Sunday, 25 January 2026, during which eligible Nigerians are expected to submit their applications online. The Commission stressed that the entire process will be transparent, credible and strictly merit driven, with no payments required at any stage. It warned applicants to be cautious of fraudsters who may attempt to exploit the exercise.
The statement outlined the qualifications for both General Duty and Specialists cadres, noting that General Duty applicants must possess a minimum of five credits including English and Mathematics in not more than two sittings, while Specialists must have at least four credits alongside relevant trade tests and a minimum of three years’ practical experience. Eligibility criteria include Nigerian citizenship by birth, age limits of 18 to 25 years for General Duty and 18 to 28 years for Specialists, as well as medical, physical and psychological fitness. Height requirements apply to General Duty applicants only.
The Commission encouraged qualified Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity to serve the nation, adding that detailed guidelines will be provided on the official portal and on the verified platforms of the Commission and the Nigeria Police Force.
