Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission, is scheduled to speak at the inaugural meeting of the Africa Chapter of the International Institute of Communications (IIC) on January 29, 2026. The virtual session will bring together key stakeholders, experts and policymakers to examine Africa’s evolving cybersecurity landscape and discuss strategies for strengthening cyber resilience across the continent. The meeting will run from 09:00 to 10:30 GMT, 10:00 to 11:30 West Africa Time and 11:00 to 12:30 Central Africa Time and will focus on building effective cybersecurity frameworks, coherent regulatory and policy approaches, and fostering collaboration across sectors and borders in response to emerging digital threats. Dr. Maida, who also serves on the board of the IIC, will join a distinguished panel of speakers to share insights on digital policy, regulation and cyber resilience. The event forms part of the IIC’s broader commitment to advancing dialogue on connectivity, digital policy and regulation in Africa. The International Institute of Communications is a global forum that engages regulators, industry leaders and policymakers in discussions on telecommunications, media and technology issues affecting the digital ecosystem.
