A season of uncommon generosity unfolded once again as the Ichie Akubudike Foundation carried its humanitarian outreach into the New Year, reaching thousands of people with food items, cash support, and clothing in what beneficiaries described as a rare and timely intervention within a single festive season.
The Foundation, led by its Founder and Chairman, High Chief Martin Nwabueze, embarked on the second phase of its festive intervention known as the New Year Palliative, coming on the heels of an earlier Christmas outreach that had already benefited over 3,000 people. That first distribution, held on December 28, 2025, saw households receive 10 kilograms of rice, 10 kilograms of beans, two litres of groundnut oil, as well as cash gifts, providing relief at a period when many families were under pressure to meet basic needs.
Building on that exercise, the Foundation returned in the New Year with an even wider outreach, distributing more than 2,000 bags of 10 kilogram rice and 2,000 bags of 10 kilogram beans, alongside cash gifts and clothing items. The initiative marked the second time palliatives were distributed within the same Christmas and New Year season, reinforcing the Foundation’s steady commitment to the welfare of the people.
Speaking during the New Year distribution, Chief Collins Nnama Nwabueze, also known as Ozo Ochinawata and son of the Founder, said the outreach reflected the values of love, unity, and shared responsibility that define the Ichie Akubudike Foundation. He explained that the intervention was not an admission that people were incapable of fending for themselves, but part of a long standing tradition of supporting the vulnerable and strengthening communal bonds.
He also used the occasion to call on investors to consider tourism development in rural and remote areas, noting that such investments would help stimulate local economies and create employment opportunities for young people. He expressed appreciation to all those who joined the Foundation and the Nwabueze family in marking the New Year celebration.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, with many noting that it was the first time they had witnessed a foundation distribute palliatives twice within the same festive season. Several described the support as timely, saying it eased the burden of feeding their families during the New Year period, while offering prayers for continued blessings upon the Foundation and its Founder.
The second round of distribution has further strengthened the standing of the Ichie Akubudike Foundation as a consistent pillar of support within the community. Through sustained acts of giving that respond to immediate needs while preserving dignity, the Foundation continues to affirm that leadership finds its truest meaning in practical and steady concern for the well being of the people.
