The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, paid a festive courtesy visit to High Chief Jim Martins Nwabueze, Chairman and Founder of the Ichie Akubudike Foundation, at his residence, Ozoma Ndi Ichie Palace, Ugwueze Umudioka. The visit, according to the Ichie Akubudike Foundation, saw the Commissioner welcomed by Ichie Nwabueze and his wife, Uchenna, Iyom Ochudo.
During the meeting, Ichie Akubudike commended the Anambra State Police Command for maintaining peace throughout the Christmas and New Year celebrations, while also praising Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo for fostering an environment that supports effective security operations. He took the opportunity to highlight some lingering security concerns in certain communities that still require attention.
High Chief Ben Amuta, Traditional Prime Minister of Umudioka, joined the reception and offered prayers for continued safety, progress, and unity within Umudioka and surrounding areas.
CP Orutugu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reflected on key milestones achieved by the police command since his appointment. The Commissioner further announced that, in recognition of Ichie Akubudike’s exemplary leadership and community service, he would soon be formally appointed Patron of the Nigeria Police Force in Anambra State.
The Personal Assistant to the Commissioner on the visiting team thanked the Ichie Akubudike and family for their hospitality and assured residents of the police command’s readiness to respond promptly to emergencies.
The gathering included prominent community and traditional leaders, among them Hon. Onyechi Adinuu, President General of Umudioka Improvement Union, members of the Umudioka Igwe’s Cabinet, and other distinguished personalities.
The visit, as reported by the Ichie Akubudike Foundation, reflects a growing partnership between traditional leadership and law enforcement aimed at fostering trust, peace, and security in Umudioka, Dunukofia, and surrounding communities.
