Nwankwor Congratulates Maduka on NUC Licence for Transatlantic University

Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, has congratulated renowned medical expert and philanthropist, Dr. Godwin Maduka, on the successful licensing of the Transatlantic University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Umuchukwu, by the National Universities Commission (NUC), describing the development as a landmark achievement for medical education and healthcare in Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message, Nwankwor said the official operational licence granted to the institution marks the beginning of a lasting legacy that will shape the future of medical education, healthcare delivery and scientific research in the country.
He noted that the establishment of the specialised university demonstrates how vision, determination and an unwavering commitment to humanity can transform communities and positively impact generations.
According to him, the institution represents much more than the establishment of another university, saying it is a strategic investment in human capital development that will produce highly skilled healthcare professionals capable of meeting global standards.
Nwankwor further commended Dr. Maduka’s sustained commitment to advancing education and healthcare, saying his investments reflect a clear understanding that the true wealth of any society lies in the development of its people.
He expressed confidence that the university would provide world-class training for future medical practitioners while creating opportunities for scientific research, innovation and economic growth.
“The official licensing of the Transatlantic University of Medicine and Health Sciences by the National Universities Commission is far more than the establishment of a university. It is the birth of a legacy that will shape the future of medical education, healthcare delivery and scientific research in Nigeria,” he said.

Nwankwor described the milestone as a source of pride for the people of Umuchukwu and the entire Anambra State, noting that the university would further strengthen the state’s reputation as a centre of educational excellence and development.
He said the institution is expected to attract students, scholars and researchers from across Nigeria and beyond, while positioning Umuchukwu as a hub for medical education, innovation and academic excellence.
The APGA standard-bearer also prayed for the continued success of the university, expressing optimism that it would produce graduates whose contributions would make lasting impacts on healthcare and humanity.
He congratulated Dr. Maduka on what he described as a historic achievement and wished him greater success in his efforts to expand access to quality education and healthcare.
Dr. Godwin Maduka is an internationally acclaimed Nigerian-American medical doctor, entrepreneur, educationist and philanthropist whose investments in healthcare, education and community development have transformed Umuchukwu, Anambra State. Through numerous humanitarian initiatives, he has funded hospitals, schools, roads and other critical infrastructure aimed at improving the quality of life of the people. He is the founder of the newly licensed Transatlantic University of Medicine and Health Sciences, established to advance medical education, research and healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
