The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China following a devastating explosion at a fireworks factory in Liuyang City, Hunan Province.
The tragic incident, which occurred at the Huasheng Fireworks facility, reportedly claimed at least twenty-one lives and left several others injured. The explosion caused widespread destruction, displaced residents, and triggered an extensive emergency response, including the evacuation of nearby communities.
Nigeria acknowledged and commended the swift action of emergency responders and rescue teams working tirelessly to save lives and prevent further harm.
In its message, Nigeria conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, as well as sympathy to those injured and all affected by the disaster. The government emphasized its solidarity with China, recognizing the profound grief that follows such sudden and tragic loss.
Reaffirming the strong ties between both nations, Nigeria underscored its commitment to maintaining and strengthening bilateral relations with China, especially during challenging times. The thoughts and prayers of the Nigerian people remain with China as it mourns the victims and continues recovery efforts.
