Engineer Diaulhaq Abubakar has officially joined the race for the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election after submitting his nomination forms, declaring his readiness to lead the state and tackle poverty through inclusive development programmes.
Speaking after completing the submission process, the governorship aspirant expressed confidence in securing his party’s ticket despite increasing competition among contenders.
Diaulhaq attributed his optimism to what he described as his strong grassroots support across Adamawa State and his track record of achievements over the years.
“I believe the support from my people and my contributions over time give me confidence that, by the grace of God, victory is possible,” he said.
The aspirant acknowledged the growing number of politicians seeking the party’s governorship nomination but maintained that he remains focused on presenting his vision to party members and the people of the state.
Outlining his agenda, Diaulhaq pledged to sustain the developmental projects of the current administration while introducing policies aimed at improving social welfare and economic opportunities.
According to him, special attention would be given to empowering young people and women through programmes designed to reduce poverty and expand access to economic opportunities.
“Our focus will be on building a stronger social development system that can improve the lives of the people, especially youths and women,” he stated.
He added that continuity in governance would remain important in order to consolidate on existing projects and accelerate development across the state.
Reacting to speculation surrounding alleged endorsements by the incumbent governor, the engineer dismissed the claims, insisting that the party leadership had assured all aspirants of a transparent and fair primary process.
“I am not aware of any endorsement. What we have been assured is that every aspirant will have a level playing field and the people will decide who they believe can lead the state into the future,” he said.
Diaulhaq reassured his full commitment to the progress and development of Adamawa State, promising inclusive governance if elected in 2027.
