The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has dismissed social media claims alleging an attempted assassination on Lt. Ahmed Yerima, describing the reports as false and capable of causing needless public anxiety.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, no such incident has been reported or recorded anywhere within the Federal Capital Territory. The Command urged the public to disregard the information and refrain from circulating unverified claims that could mislead residents.
The statement advised the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest Police Division, adding that the Command Headquarters can also be reached through its emergency lines on 08032003913 and 08068587311 for prompt response.
SP Adeh reaffirmed the commitment of the FCT Police Command to safeguarding lives and property across the territory.
