Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Dr Tony Nwoye, has congratulated the Igwe of Ifite-Ogwari, Igwe Dr A.I. Ofuebe, on the occasion of the 2025 Ofala festival and his 25 years on the throne.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Nwoye described the festival as a historic celebration that fosters peace and unity in Ifite-Ogwari, the Omanbala region, and Anambra State. He extended his greetings to the people of Ifite-Ogwari and said Igwe Ofuebe continues to serve as a unifying figure for sons and daughters of the community.
Senator Nwoye also highlighted the cultural significance of the festival, describing the heritage of Ifite-Ogwari as remarkable, historic, and worthy of celebration.
The event featured the conferment of chieftaincy titles on distinguished sons, daughters, and friends of the community. Among those honored was Sir Dr Iyke Oliobi, who received the title of Ikemba Gburugburu of Ifite-Ogwari, alongside several others recognized for their contributions to the town.
The festival saw traditional displays, colorful attire, and performances that underscored the rich culture and history of the people of Ifite-Ogwari.
