Saturday, February 22, 2025, was a day of grand celebration in Abuja FCT as dignitaries from across Nigeria and by extension abroad gathered to witness the union of Larry Ekwunife and his bride, Jessica. The groom, son of Chief Larry and Senator (Dr) Uche Ekwunife, Director General of South East Governors Forum, was the center of attention at the glamorous reception.

The event, held at the very popular Rainbownet Event Center in Garki, Abuja, was a who’s who of Nigerian politics, business, and society. Governors, lawmakers, business leaders, and other prominent figures mingled and exchanged pleasantries, putting aside political differences for the day.
Chief Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money in his unique regalia, added to the occasion’s glamour as he took center stage to function as the Chairman of the occassion. He showered the newlyweds with prayers and blessings.
The entire venue was indeed filled to capacity, with guests enjoying plenty of food and assorted drinks from any corner they found themselves. As the celebration unfolded, well-wishers spoke to news correspondents, offering individual prayers and good wishes for the newlyweds’ future together.
Earlier, a nuptial mass was held at the Catholic Church of Assumption, Asokoro District with First Lady of Anambra State, Dr (Mrs) Soludo and key notable figures in attendance.
The groom and bridegroom’s parents accompanied by Asoebi group had danced with joy, basking in the cheers and applause of other family members, relatives, friends, well wishers and supporters at the reception venue.
Thereafter, the brand new couples followed suit to have the dance floor!

Honorable Uchenna Harris Annie Okonkwo, member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency at the green Chamber prayed that the couple will be able to accomplish more than their parents had achieved, Hon Okonkwo went further to pray that, “all the blessings of God Almighty will come to their home”.

The wedding, no doubt was a testament to the power of unity and celebration, bringing together politicians and leaders from across the spectrum in a spirit of joy and camaraderie. The event stretched into the night with equally colourful after party.
