The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has received recognition for its excellence in public service and strategic communication. Assistant Comptroller of Customs (AC) Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer of NCS, has been named among Nigeria’s top 50 PR and communications professionals in the 2025 PR Power List
The PR Power List, published by GLG Communications in partnership with the Guardian Newspaper on July 16, 2025, honors PR professionals who have shaped narratives and driven impactful change in the communication space. AC Maiwada was recognized in the “Changemakers Category,” which celebrates professionals who challenge norms and introduce innovative communication practices with measurable results.
AC Maiwada described the recognition as “humbling,” crediting the team and the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for empowering innovative communication and transparency within NCS. “This recognition speaks to the commitment of the Service to modernise public engagement, enhance transparency, and build trust,” he said.
The 2025 PR Power List highlights individuals who shape the future of public relations through bold moves and impact-driven communication. This honor reflects the growing credibility of NCS in public communication, driven by professional excellence and commitment to service.
