The Anambra State Government has urged all eligible voters across the state to come out en masse and actively participate in the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
According to a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, the government emphasised that full voter participation remains a key expression of civic responsibility and a vital demonstration of citizens’ commitment to democratic governance.
The statement noted that active participation in this year’s election is particularly important to reverse the low voter turnout recorded during the 2021 governorship poll, when only about 200,000 of the over 2.7 million registered voters exercised their franchise.
It described Anambra as the “Light of the Nation,” stressing that the state has consistently taken the lead in national affairs and should, once again, lead by example by turning out in large numbers to vote peacefully and responsibly.
Dr. Mefor reiterated the government’s confidence in the people’s maturity and sense of civic duty, urging Ndi Anambra to demonstrate once again that democracy thrives when citizens actively engage in the process.
The Anambra governorship election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 8, 2025, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) assuring of adequate preparations for a free, fair, and credible poll.
