President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, on his re-election, describing it as a clear affirmation of his visionary and purposeful leadership.
According to a State House press statement signed by the President, Soludo’s overwhelming victory at the polls marks him as the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term, adding that the outcome reflects the trust and confidence of the people in his administration.
Tinubu commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible exercise. He noted that Soludo’s re-election underscores the tangible progress recorded under his administration, anchored on accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.
The President recalled his visit to the state in May where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, describing them as evidence of thoughtful and result-driven governance. He praised the governor for bringing discipline, brilliance, and fresh ideas to public service, saying Anambra under Soludo has continued to live up to its motto as the “Light of the Nation.”
Tinubu urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and work with his opponents for the greater good of the state. He assured Soludo of his full support and expressed confidence in stronger collaboration between the Federal Government and Anambra.
The President further commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for what he termed a credible and transparent election, urging the Commission to sustain and improve on the standards achieved.
He noted that the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the election reflects the strength of Nigeria’s democracy, where diligent and people-oriented leadership continues to earn public trust and endorsement.
